How You Can Help

Become a Founding Benefactor

We are seeking gifts and grants towards our outstanding funding requirement of £955,000 and must raise these funds by Spring 2027. If we do not, we risk losing the opportunity to purchase the properties. They would then be sold on the open market to the highest bidder, and the interiors and artefacts would be lost as a unique collection. Pledges to make a gift of any size are most welcome. Please contact us to discuss possible amounts and timing, or simply let us know how much you would like to commit. We will keep in touch when we are ready to receive your kind gift. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

We are advertising for a Project Director and Admin/Comms Assistant

We are seeking an experienced freelance Project Director to oversee the transformative development of the Rory Young House. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a significant cultural and educational initiative that brings together heritage conservation, hands-on learning, and craft preservation.

Please visit <https://www.artsjobs.org.uk/jobs/search/80989> for more details and to apply.

We are also recruiting an individual to bring office and communications skills to the Project. This will be a part-time role, primarily working from home, though easy access to Cirencester will be an advantage for events and meetings.

We need Volunteers

Projects like these simply are not possible without the time and goodwill offered by a range of volunteers. We will need guides, help with merchandise, catering, security, care of the house, its collections and contents including cleaning and sorting, maintenance and repairs. If you want to help and have time that you give regularly or only occasionally when the need arises, please get in touch or leave us your name.

Partner with us

We want to join the already burgeoning party of heritage and arts organisations in Cirencester and the wider region. We are keen to work with our colleagues to enhance the local offer and make an impact on the town’s tourist trail. We are in the early stages of developing our vision, so we welcome conversations now about how we can join in and support like-minded organisations.

We are advertising for two Trustees

We are seeking two individuals to bring key skills to the Board and are keen to hear from candidates with relevant experience.

The first one is in communications - marketing, digital engagement and PR to strengthen the charity's public profile, broaden its reach, and increase awareness and impact.

Please visit <https://www.artsjobs.org.uk/jobs/search/81520> for more details and to apply.

The second is in museum curation, heritage interpretation, and visitor experience to help guide the charity's work in conserving, presenting, and sharing the RYH with the public.

Please visit <https://www.artsjobs.org.uk/jobs/search/81522> for more details and to apply.

Trustees are normally appointed for an initial term of three years.

Help by introducing us to philanthropists who might be interested in joining and supporting the project. There are other ways you can help too, by being part of our wider team, endorsing our work to your friends and colleagues and attending events. There are many different communities that we are seeking to engage with, so making introductions to people with different specialist interests is immensely helpful to us. We are also seeking high profile Patrons to endorse our work to a wider audience – do you know anyone that would fit the bill? Please join us on our mission.
